Difference between Formal & Informal English?



Formal: - Serioius situations in English are expressed with Formal Langruage. For example, it is used when we are giving a speech or sending an application to some official or writing an essay. It avoids any personal tone or emotional content. Longer sentences with ‘to-the-point’ content are used in formal English. It should be noted that there no use of idioms in formal English.
Informal: - It is the English spoken by us when we are more comfortable, relaxed and casual. Its tone is more personal than the Formal English. Idioms and proverbs can be used in an informal talk. For example, it can be used while talking to freiends or writing letter to relatives.

There are some  ways of speaking one sentence in formal and informal language given below: -

Formal: In my opinion, it’s good.
Informal: I think it’s good.
Formal: Appreciate your help.
Informal: Thanks a lot!
Formal: I agree with you.
Informal: You are right!
Formal: I would like to remind you about it.
Informal: Don’t forget it.
Formal: I shall rectify the problem.
Informal: I’ll fix the problem.
Formal: On your arrival, inform me.
Informal: When you get there, tell me.
